Privacy policy
Last updated July 22, 2026. What the service collects, why it is needed, and how to request access or deletion.
01Information we collect
We collect what the service needs to run:
- Account information. Your email address and authentication data, managed through our authentication provider.
- Text session data. Session settings, questions, typed answers, follow-ups, categorical results, citations, readouts, and timestamps.
- Messages you send. Contact-form details and any feedback or review notes you choose to provide.
- Usage and diagnostic data. Pages viewed, product events, session length, device and browser information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and error data.
02How we use information
We use this information to:
- Run text mock-oral sessions and generate follow-ups and readouts.
- Save session history so you can continue or review your work.
- Respond to contact messages and technical reports.
- Find product failures and improve authored questions, rubrics, and workflows.
- Protect accounts, investigate abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information or use session data for targeted advertising.
03AI processing
Pilot Computer sends the active authored question, relevant session context, and your typed answer to an AI provider so it can select an allowed follow-up or return a structured judgment. The provider does not receive audio because the service is text-only.
AI output can be wrong. Do not put sensitive personal information in an answer. Verify important aviation information with current official sources and your CFI.
06Data retention
We retain account and session data while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, investigate problems, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
You may request deletion through the contact page. We remove or de-identify information within a reasonable period unless the law requires longer retention. Backup copies age out on their normal schedule.
07Data security
We use encrypted network connections, authentication controls, database access rules, and row-level security to limit access to account and session data.
No online service is completely secure. Sign in with a Google account you control and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
08Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete personal information.
Submit a request through the contact page. We may need to verify that the request relates to your account.
09Children's privacy
You must be at least 16 to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Pilot Computer only with a parent or guardian's involvement.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 provided information.
10International users
Pilot Computer is operated from the United States. Service providers may process information in the United States or other countries whose data-protection rules differ from those where you live.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
12Contact
Send privacy questions or requests through the contact page. Chris reviews the messages sent to Pilot Computer.
This policy describes the service and is not legal advice. Pilot Computer may revise it before adding payments, audio, or other data-processing features.
